If you are striving to find happiness, it may be closer than you think. You may not even need to find that mystical purpose everyone keeps talking about.

Have a look at your life and think about what you are doing right. What makes me happy in day to day life? Once you have figured out these factors, you can strive to eliminate them from your life and replace them with something that is giving you good emotions. Not only will you immediately feel more positive, but it will open up your schedule for things that actually give you joy.

And hey, once all the dirt, and sadness, and bad things are removed from your life… Nothing is clouding your sight anymore and it gets so much easier to see what excites you! Writing things down helps to clear your mind, and allows you to reach the deepest caverns of your soul. You may even find yourself feeling a lot happier thanks to minutes a day with your journal! Perhaps the biggest hurdle that separates us from true happiness is fear. It makes us feel positive, energetic and boosts our mood. It disrupts our normal routines, breaks up the boredom and makes us appreciate our lives!

It turns out, feeling excited and feeling anxious can be very similar. Both provide a rush of cortisol in the brain, triggering your fight or flight response. The difference? How we perceive the situation and how we feel about ourselves! Think about public speaking, for example.

Some people think of speaking to an audience as their worst nightmare. On the other hand, some people thrive with an audience, like singers, actors and motivational speakers. It excites them to perform for a crowd and feed off their energy! Sure, they might feel a bit nervous sometimes about messing up. Reframing a negative situation in our minds into a positive one makes all the difference.

Excitement has a lot of physical signs , most of which you have definitely experienced before. When she was talking to me about cooking, or her garden, two subjects I have no interest in but for which she has a total passion for, she captivated me, she had me wanting to learn more, she empowered me purely through her excitement powered by passion.

This is her power, and when she is driven by what she is passionate about she can fascinate anybody. Despite the fact she loves these areas so much she does spend time doing so many other things. These can drain her and push her to her limits. For others it is far worse. They may go weeks or months without anything special to spark their fire. They bury any excitement they may have under their obligations such as their chores, their bills to pay, and their time at work.

With all the stresses and strains of everyday living they find no time for anything else. Well I want you to reach your inner fire, your spirit. Why deny what it is that makes you happy and pumps your adrenaline through the roof? I want you to take a moment to reflect on your life right now. Think of those times where you could feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins, and remember what it was that actually got you into this state.

What gives you that special spark of excitement? Now think of things you can do that will generate the excitement again. Get at it and light your fire once again and do what makes your heart sing.
