There is no other option. My advice is to install Windows 10 pro directly, letting the install program choose where to install if you don't know. Even better would be to clean the disk first. It is not singulary to Acer to include a recovery option on a hidden partition, but if that is deleted you have to start anew from scratch.

I would also make a Windows repair cd. Windows calls it a recovery cd, but everybody else calls it a repair cd.
You may need this disc! If you are intending to use the recovery dvd's to re-install Win 7, it will most likely want to use the whole disc. I just got an acer netbook and eventually killed windows 7 on it. I tried everything on the recovery discs and more and still couldn't get it to work. Even trying to restore to factory image was broken. I however did back them up into images just in case. Not that you really need the fourth primary partition table entry freeing up, mind you. You could just as equally move the container partition down into that free space and resize it to encompass the whole of the remainder of the DASD after the space occupied by the first three primary partitions, as indeed you were thinking of doing.
Based on your question, it really depends on where your partitions are. If your Windows 7 partition is on disk 0, and partition 1 0 being that little partition the W7 install adds , you can probably delete or merge other partitions. If Windows 7 is loaded on partitions after, let's say 2,3 or 4, and you merge partitions before it, you will alter the boot configuration, and it will not boot. This has the same function as the boot.
